Insanity Workout

Dan and I have been wanting to get into shape and loose a few pounds for a while now. So, we finally bought the Insanity workout. I started Monday, September 19th, and I will be the first one to tell you that it definitely is Insane! I will work out six times a week for 60 days. After two weeks, friends have already mentioned I look skinnier:) It takes a lot of commitment and digging deeper (as Shaun T would say).

The Hunger Games Series

I have been looking for a good series to read since the last one I read was the Twilight Series. I remembered that many friends, along with my sister, have recommended the Hunger Games. I bought the first book right before going to Louisiana. I did not really read much of it until two weeks ago. I couldn't seem to book the book down, especially since I finished the series today and it only took about two weeks! Dan says I get to involved in these books,and that I think they are real, which is true. I can not wait for the movie!

Guitar Lessons

Back in July I won 2 free guitar lessons from a Relief Society Meeting Service Auction.
Today, I finally went for my first lesson. Dan owns a guitar, so he was nice to let me borrow it. I have not really played, but it did help that I knew a little piano (Thanks Granny)! We will see how the second lesson goes, and if I continue, but so far I love it!

We're Back!

Hello blogging world, I'm back after two years of a vacation. After having multiple people, my sister especially, tell me I need to blog, I finally gave in. From now on I will do my best to keep our blog updated :)

Many things have happened for Dan and me in the past two years: I did a practicum as a financial counselor at the Family Life Center in Logan, Utah and then graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Family Finance in May 2010. In June of 2010 Dan received his A&P license and then in July got a job as an Aircraft Mechanic at Erickson Air-Crane in Central Point, Oregon. We packed up all of our things and made the long (20 hour) drive with the U-haul. More posts and pictures to come later of our adventures.

We have now lived in southern Oregon for over a year and love it! We have made some great friends and love our ward. I am currently teaching in Primary and Dan works with the Deacons in the Young Men's. I work as a teller again at Northwest Community Credit Union. This is the third credit union in four years! We look forward to the adventures life brings us.

School

I am getting pretty sick of school. This past week I took two tests and this upcoming week I have to take three. I am so pre-occupied with tests and work that I forget when I get paid and don't have time for fun :( Oh well we all go through that stage of never really seeing or going out of the apartment with our husbands. Bring it on May I am ready to graduate!

As for Dan, he is busy studying to get his A&P license as well as still working as the Freight Supervisor at Shopko..

Oh yeah one more thing that recently happened to me.. I had multiple scars on both corneas and could not open my eyes until a few days after the medication. It has been an interesting semester.

Summer is Gone and School is Here

Sadly summer has past and school is back in season. Summer was fun with my trip to New Orleans to see Katie and Hunter, the trip to Florida with the "Willis" clan, and no homework!

I am back in school with a full course and working at the Credit Union. Dan is full-time at Shopko and is studying to get his A &P Mechanic license. He is also very helpful with doing the cleaning, cooking, and chores while I do homework. He is the best and I am so grateful he is in my life.

Life Insurance

Dan and I met with a financial advisor at my work, Mountain America, and we decided to sign up for life insurance. In order to get approved, the company needs a urine and blood sample. I hate needles so bad every since I was a little girl. I have the smallest vains in the world and most nurses have to pock around to find my veins.

The nurse came to our home yesterday and I had to hug a pillow as tight as I could to block out the pain. I guess I am a wimp, but luckily I did not faint like my dad did when he had to get his blood taken years ago.

I made it! Dan was good the whole time. He wasn't even nervous. Jealous. My hands were shaking the whole time.

Summer

Summer is a great time to do fun things! Sadly Dan and I typically work opposite sifts almost every day of every week :( Sad, but it is what we have to do right now. Luckily we both had a Saturday night off, so we took adevantage of that and went to 2nd dam and roasted hot dogs and had smores! It was so good and Dan was the handy man lighting the fire.

Graduation!

May 2nd rolled around and Dan became a college grad! He graduated with his bachelor's in Aviation Maintenance Technology. I am so proud of him! He has had a long road of five years with all of those tests and papers. He is done with school for good (Unless of course he goes back to get a Master's degree). We had a great day together with his family. Here are some pictures but his mom has the one of ous performing the famous kissing on the A, to be a true Aggie! :)

Bollard Family Reunion!

We went to my Granny's surprise 80th birthday. My sister Katie, her husband Kevin, and their son Hunter were also there from Michigan! Most of the Bollard family gathered together from across the states to celebrate this special day. We decided that the "Willis" family should get pictures together. We all were matching and it was great fun!

Easter!

This was our first Easter together and I decided to keep some of those traditions alive. We got those Resees Easter eggs and the color dyes. We had a great time being like kids and decorating Easter eggs. Next year we will have to have a scavenger hunt.

Dan Turns 25!

On March 29th, Dan turned the big 25! We went out to Wingers to celebrate the night before. They gave us the biggest piece of pie to celebrate. On his birthday, I woke up and decorated the apartment with streamers, balloons, a candy bar card, and I made him 25 cupcakes! We opened his presents and I got him some new speakers, music, and candy. It was also the first time that I decorated a cake. The pictures might prove that.
Dan's parents threw him a party and got him a drill! He really liked that!

Olive Garden

We met up with some friends of Dan from Oregon down in Salt Lake. We had a great time bonding, but my stomach did not let me eat a lot. Sadly, it was my first time time throwing up in front of public. Apparently the food there did not settle with my stomach. It was a good first impression too.

Draper Open House Temple

So over our Spring Break, Dan and I went down to visit Papa Willis. While we ere there we went to the Draper Open House. It is amazing! We were lucky to go through even though we didn't have reservations. I love the temples and the joy they bring into our lives.

Thoughts on Valentines Day

So, I know that Dan will not really look at our post, sad, but I have been thinking ahead, and this Valentine's will be our first together. We do have a small budget for the day, but guys are so much harder to shop for on that day. Guys can just go buy flowers and chocolate and they call it good. What do you get them though for the day?

I would love ideas or traditions that you do. Thanks for the advice!

Thank You Cards

So after being married for five weeks, we are still working on those Thank You Cards. School does keep us busy and sadly we are not half way done yet.

Any ideas on how to get your husband motivated to do them with you?
P.S. He knows he needs to help but we need a shove and I was thinking for FHE one night when it is my turn for the lesson?

The New Year!

So we got settled into our new apartment, pictures to come later, and we were able to celebrate New Year's by going to the Aggie Game and then to celebrate with the Dutson clan. We were able to put to use our Fondue Pot and have a great party with it and playing games!! It is cool to say now that we got married last year, but really it has only been five weeks.

Any New Year's advice to the Newlyweds that anyone wants to share??

Wedding!!

On December 20th, 2008 Dan and I got married in Logan LDS Temple. It was a beautiful day even with all of the snow. We were so happy to be sealed for time and all eternity. The day went great and here are some pictures for you. We appreciate family and friends that were there to celebrate with us. Also, we are blessed to have each other.
